I am scheduled to present a paper at the 44th Annual Meeting of the Society of Pentecostal Studies (SPS). My presentation will be delivered in one of the Ecumenical Interest Group sessions. I believe I have an important presentation, which in about grassroots believers of diverse Christian backgrounds, learning to share our gifts with one another through our common share in the Spirit of Christ. It is titled, “Translating Pentecost into Salvation Praxes: The Soteriological Praxis of Gift Sharing.”
I thank God for receiving another opportunity to link my local setting to these important conversations amongst an international fellowship of ministry leaders and scholars, on current and emerging challenges facing global Pentecostalism. While this will be my fourth SPS trip and third to deliver at this platform, my wife (Jee Fong) and have prayed, and believe it is the Lord, who for reasons He knows best— is again graciously enabling my participation in this conference. The conference theme is, “Global Spirit: Pentecostals and the World.” You can learn more about this by visiting the SPS website ( http://www.sps-usa.org ).
WHAT IS LACKING HOWEVER, and what we are praying for is: God’s provision for: AIRFARE and hotel accommodations. The greater challenge lies in airfare, given that the cost escalates as the departure date draws near (I will share a room with two or three other participants). Therefore, it would be best to be able to purchase airfare now within this month of January 2015.
Once, I raise sufficient funds to immediately secure airfare along with accommodation expenses, I will close this fundraising effort. Thanks to the help of some Brothers and Sisters, I have already paid for all conference fees and meal expenses.
I am therefore seeking your prayerful involvement, in however God prompts you— towards bringing this trip to pass.
Yours for the upbuilding of the Church,
The coming Kingdom, and the greater glory of God.
Lord of the harvest,
For the worldwide blooming of faith, hope and love—
Make us peace-makers.
